Jensen Huang charts AI cooperation map in South Korea over four days

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (황젠슨) used a four-day visit to South Korea to map cooperation across the country’s AI value chain, spanning memory chips, foundries, data centres, AI models and robotics. He met executives from SK, Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Group, Naver and LG Electronics, and hosted a reception bringing together 18 companies. Talks covered generative and sovereign AI, chip infrastructure, overseas expansion and startup cooperation, the report said.

Samsung MX hit by surging memory prices; costs to rise further in Q2

The company said memory prices are expected to rise further in 2026\'s second quarter, increasing cost burdens and making a year-on-year decline in profitability unavoidable. Samsung is pursuing premium-focused sales growth and cost efficiencies, while aiming to outperform the market in both value and volume amid a tougher demand outlook.

Samsung Electronics posts Q1 operating profit of 57.2 trillion won, up 756 percent

Samsung Electronics said it posted record first-quarter results, with sales rising 69.16 percent from a year earlier to 133.9 trillion won and operating profit jumping 756.10 percent to 57.2 trillion won. Profit was driven by semiconductors as the DS division posted record sales and operating profit amid higher memory prices and growing demand for AI products. The company said currency moves also helped and R&D spending reached 11.3 trillion won.
