SK Telecom said on Tuesday it has applied its next-generation in-car AI agent, A.Dot Auto, to Renault Korea’s new Filante vehicle.
A.Dot Auto is an intelligent AI agent that goes beyond carrying out simple commands by comprehensively recognising a driver’s driving patterns and driving conditions. It is embedded in the in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system, allowing drivers to use AI while driving without an operational burden.
A.Dot Auto can control by voice infotainment services such as calls, news guidance, T map (navigation) and FLO (music), as well as the climate control system that manages cabin temperature and air and functions such as opening and closing windows. In particular, it applies A.X 4.0, a Korean-language specialised large language model, enabling voice control of various functions through conversational AI in the vehicle and allowing natural dialogue.
A.Dot Auto also links with the A.Dot mobile app to provide an AI experience across the vehicle and mobile. If a schedule is saved in the A.Dot mobile app, it can also suggest a destination based on it.
SKT plans to expand A.Dot Auto to vehicles of other brands in the future, starting with this application. It plans to offer A.Dot Auto in various options, including on-device solutions, tailored to the needs of each vehicle brand.
Kim Ji-hoon, who is in charge of SKT’s A.Dot business, said, "With the launch of A.Dot Auto, we opened new possibilities for in-car AI agents," adding, "We will make it possible to experience various AI agent functions as a national representative AI, not only in vehicles but also across various touchpoints."
