Qualcomm CEO says Apple revenue decline to accelerate from fourth quarter

Qualcomm expects its Apple-related revenue to decline faster than anticipated as its share of components in the next iPhone is seen falling well below earlier estimates, CEO Cristiano Amon said. He cited supply constraints and said the acceleration would begin from the fourth quarter. Qualcomm to raise chip prices amid component shortages; forecast misses market expectations

Qualcomm will broadly raise chip prices from Sept. 1, citing shortages of memory and other components. CNBC reported that its fiscal third-quarter results met market expectations, but its forecast for the current quarter fell short. The company projected adjusted earnings per share of $2.05 to $2.25 and revenue of $9.7 billion to $10.5 billion. Net profit fell 25 percent year on year. Handset chip revenue declined, while automotive and IoT revenue rose.

Qualcomm is expanding cooperation with Samsung by supplying its chips across Samsung’s new lineup of smartphones, watches and smart glasses.
