Anthropic\'s Mythos goes public, launched as \'Claude Fable 5\'
Anthropic has released a public version of its Mythos-based model, branded as Claude Fable 5, TechCrunch reported. The model performs strongly in software engineering, knowledge work and vision, but blocks responses in high-risk areas such as cybersecurity and biology and switches to Claude Opus 4.8. It is now available via Anthropic’s Claude API and a usage-based enterprise plan, with free access for some subscribers until June 22.

Anthropic unveils stronger Claude Opus 4.8, boosts coding and reasoning, keeps prices unchanged
Anthropic has unveiled and launched worldwide its new AI model Claude Opus 4.8. The company said the update improves performance and adjusts response behavior, making the model a more effective collaborator and better able to work independently for long periods. It said tests showed more frequent uncertainty signaling and fewer unsupported claims. Anthropic also reported higher benchmark scores and kept prices unchanged, while updating Claude Code, workflows, the message API and future release plans.
