Enterprise web browser developer Island raises $400 million at $6.4 billion valuation

Enterprise browser developer Island has raised $400 million in a Series F round, valuing the company at $6.4 billion, up $1.8 billion from its previous funding. The group says broader infrastructure should be counted, not just servers. It also highlights limited global recycling capacity and risks from informal processing, and notes the United States has not ratified the Basel Convention.

Cloudflare launches Kitesurf browser for AI agents

Cloudflare has launched Kitesurf, a cloud browser designed specifically for AI agents rather than consumers. It is built to let AI navigate websites, fill out forms and handle other browser-based tasks, allowing developers to build AI software without creating separate browser software. Kitesurf runs on Cloudflare’s Workers platform and is offered free during beta through Browser Run. Cloudflare says it uses CPU and memory more efficiently than Chromium for common agent tasks.
