Bitcoin DeFi Solv Protocol loses $2.7 million in hack
Bitcoin-based DeFi platform Solv Protocol suffered a hacking attack in which about $2.7 million worth of bitcoin-linked token SolvBTC was stolen, Cointelegraph reported on March 6. The project offered the hacker a 10 percent bounty and asked for the funds to be returned. It said fewer than 10 users were affected and pledged compensation for 38.05 SolvBTC. Security experts said the attack exploited a smart contract reentrancy flaw.

Solana DeFi platform Step Finance suffers $29 million hack
Solana-based DeFi platform Step Finance said some treasury and fee wallets were taken by an external party, The Block reported on Jan. 31. Step Finance said on X that a security breach occurred several hours earlier and that an investigation is under way, with more information to follow. CertiK estimated about 261,854 SOL was unstaked and sent to an external address, worth about $29 million at current prices. STEP fell more than 60 percent over 24 hours to about $0.023.

Chainlink joins Wemaide-led stablecoin alliance GAKS
Chainlink Labs has officially joined GAKS, a won-based stablecoin alliance led by Wemaide, the company said on Jan. 27. Wemaide said it signed a partnership with Chainlink Labs, a core developer of the Chainlink platform. Launched in November, GAKS aims to comply with global regulations including Korean financial standards and expand real-world use of won stablecoins. Chainlink Labs will support strategy and help establish global standards.
