Nexthrus said on Wednesday that global blockchain security firm CertiK has joined as a validator on the OneChain mainnet 2.0.

CertiK will build its own node infrastructure and take part in OneChain's block production, transaction validation and network maintenance. The cooperation scope has expanded from externally checking smart contracts and on-chain security to directly operating the network.

OneChain mainnet 2.0, dubbed "Breakpoint", has adopted a proof-of-stake authority (PoSA) model in which validators are responsible for block production. Validators meet their own staking requirements and operate nodes at all times.

Nexthrus and CertiK signed a memorandum of understanding in December last year for cooperation on security, audits and infrastructure. They then signed an agreement in May for validator participation.

OneChain validators currently include Nexthrus and CertiK, as well as OneStore, H Lab, OnChain Labs, Raid Labs and Nexthrus CEO Hyun-kuk Jang (장현국).

Jang said, "With CertiK's participation as a momentum, we will continue to expand the validator set with verified global partners."
