Trump targets banks at private event attended by Tyson, Tether CEO, backs crypto bill

U.S. President Donald Trump criticised banks for blocking cryptocurrency legislation at a closed-door event at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, CoinDesk reported. The gathering was held for hundreds of top holders of the meme coin Official Trump (TRUMP). Trump said he would not let the banking sector derail a digital asset market clarity and market structure bill. Attendees included Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino and others.

OpenAI sells $3 billion in shares to retail investors, seeks ETF inclusion

OpenAI sold about $3 billion worth of shares to retail investors through a recent private placement aimed at clients of three large banks, Axios reported. The company also said its shares would soon be included in several exchange-traded funds run by ARK Invest, led by Cathie Wood. CFO Sarah Friar said OpenAI is considering access to economic benefits created by AI as well as access to technology.

Ark Invest\'s Cathie Wood says bitcoin far superior to gold

Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood, known in South Korea by the nickname “Money Tree Sister,” again stressed that bitcoin is a superior alternative asset to gold. She said bitcoin can hedge both inflation and deflation and has an edge in structural adoption, helped by younger investors’ preference for digital assets and still-early institutional participation. Bitcoin is down about 27.7 percent this year, while gold is up about 19 percent. Ark has continued buying crypto-related stocks.
