Cardano nears biggest upgrade; Charles Hoskinson says ADA fundamentals are solid
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said the network’s biggest upgrade is nearing and argued its fundamentals remain solid despite weak prices and governance tensions. He cited reliability metrics, saying Cardano has never been hacked and block production has continued at a steady pace. Hoskinson highlighted initiatives including RealFi, a Bitcoin DeFi push under the “Forgoon” initiative, and the privacy-focused partner chain Midnight, which he called 2026’s “year of Midnight beta.”

Solana Foundation launches protocol-level governance framework
The Solana Foundation introduced a new governance framework, Solana Governance Proposals (SGP), to let validators and delegators make protocol-level decisions on-chain. Validators with at least 100,000 SOL delegated can submit proposals. Voting power is based on delegated SOL, and proposals need backing from validators representing at least 15 percent of active staked tokens to proceed to formal voting. The foundation also broadened delegator rights and separated smaller upgrades into Solana Improvement Documents (SIMD).

Cardano rose 4 percent on July 1 to regain the $0.150 level after rebounding from a key support area following a 38 percent slide in June, an analysis said.
