Mara cuts bitcoin holdings by 34 percent, steps up shift to AI data centres
Mara Holdings sold $1.63 billion worth of bitcoin in the first half of 2026, disposing of about 23,093 BTC at an average price of about $70,631 per coin. The sale equalled about 34 percent of the 53,822 BTC it held at the end of 2025, cutting holdings to 35,577 BTC by mid-year. The company said it used proceeds for operations, growth opportunities and liquidity management as revenue fell in both quarters.

Mara posts $611.3 million Q2 net loss hit by bitcoin price drop
Bitcoin miner Mara (MARA) swung to a net loss of $611.3 million in the second quarter, hurt by a 28 percent drop in the average bitcoin price. The company said its quarterly bitcoin output was the highest in more than a year, but the price decline outweighed a 3 percent increase in production. Mara held 35,577 bitcoin worth $2.1 billion at fair value as of June 30. It is also expanding AI and HPC infrastructure.

US-listed Hyperscale Data keeps buying bitcoin, adds 15 BTC over 8 days
U.S.-listed Hyperscale Data has bought more bitcoin, lifting its total holdings to 1,106. At current prices, the company’s bitcoin holdings are worth $69.7 million, Bitcoin Magazine reported. Hyperscale said expanding its bitcoin position helps broaden options for its financial structure and capital management. Board Chairman Milton Todd Ault III said the purchases strengthen the balance sheet and increase flexibility, and the company plans to keep increasing holdings.
