The cryptocurrency industry has urged AI companies to expand early access to cutting-edge AI models for bitcoin developers and security staff defending open-source financial infrastructure. A public letter said defenders often cannot access AI labs’ cybersecurity programs and face guardrails on top public models, forcing reliance on lower-performing open-weight models. Signatories called for standing access programmes. The letter cited rising losses and warned vulnerabilities could threaten personal lifetime savings.

Philippine lender BPI is pushing a pilot to settle overseas remittances using stablecoins for freelancers, virtual assistants and others who receive income from abroad. The bank is preparing a payment system aimed at cutting the time and cost of processing inbound funds. The system will be developed with global digital clearing house Meridian, converting stablecoin settlements into Philippine pesos and depositing them into recipients\' BPI accounts, while keeping existing banking safeguards.
