Billionaire Tim Draper says quantum computers more of a threat to banks than bitcoin
Venture investor Tim Draper said quantum computers pose a greater threat to traditional finance than to bitcoin, arguing banks would be hacked first. He said his bitcoin holdings are safer than U.S. dollars kept in banks and that the bitcoin network could, if attacked, carry out a hard fork to return to a last safe block, though broad consensus would be required. Debate continues over quantum risks and possible quantum-resistant upgrades.

Satoshi wallet dormant for more than a decade keeps bitcoin market on edge
Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto is estimated to hold about 1.09 million BTC, valued at more than $84.2 billion at current prices. Analysts say the stash equals about 5.47 percent of circulating supply. Onchain firm Arkham put the figure at 1,096,361 BTC. The wallets have shown no market-moving activity, with the last confirmed outflow 16 years ago. Investors also cite potential risks from quantum computing to early bitcoin address formats.

30 percent of bitcoin at risk of quantum exposure, Glassnode says address reuse key
About 30.2 percent of issued bitcoin is stored in addresses at risk of quantum exposure, with a larger share stemming from how users and custodians manage addresses rather than from protocol structure, according to an estimate cited in a report. Glassnode put quantum-exposed bitcoin at 4.12 million BTC, more than twice the 1.92 million BTC it classified as structurally exposed due to older script types. Exchange wallets were singled out as a major source of operational exposure.
