Neocloud firms surge on AI boom but profitability tested despite GPU demand

Neocloud providers that rent out GPUs for AI training and inference have surged, but concerns are growing over high costs and heavy debt. Gartner expects more than 80 percent could stop operating independently by 2030 due to cost pressure and lack of differentiated business models. Companies such as CoreWeave and Nebius face large depreciation charges, even as demand remains strong and long-term contracts extend into 2028 and beyond.

Nvidia unveils OpenShell reference architecture to control AI agents

Nvidia has unveiled the OpenShell reference architecture for controlling enterprise AI agents, The Register reported on Tuesday. OpenShell is an AI agent security runtime environment developed by Nvidia. The reference architecture describes how to build and operate AI agents with OpenShell on Nvidia hardware and includes ways to monitor agents and prevent them from exceeding set limits. Canonical, SUSE, Red Hat, AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure joined as partners.

Flex partners Microsoft Korea on enterprise AX and Copilot expansion

HR data-based AI platform Flex said on Oct. 21 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft Korea to support AI transformation at South Korean companies. The partners will cooperate in three areas: joint sales for domestic corporate customers, integration of Flex with Microsoft products and technologies, and reviewing mutual solution adoption under a Customer Zero approach. Flex also plans to pursue large and mid-sized companies and support expansion of the Copilot ecosystem.
