Hana Bank offers up to 13,000 won discount coupons to Meokkaebi users
Hana Bank will run a discount promotion for individual customers in partnership with public delivery app Meokkaebi. The event runs until Aug. 31. Customers who open a Hana Bank deposit and withdrawal account on the Meokkaebi app will receive a 3,000 won coupon, with two additional 5,000 won coupons for new Hana Bank customers. Hana OneQ will also hold a separate prize draw offering coupons in August and September.

EU launches review of MiCA, seeks views on stablecoin rules and interest ban
The European Union has launched a review of its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation and opened a public consultation on whether changes are needed. The European Commission is seeking views until Aug. 31 on issues including a ban on interest or similar rewards for stablecoins, reserve asset and liquidity requirements, redemption rights and criteria for significant tokens. It is also examining token classification, DeFi gaps and consumer understanding and trust.

Toss opens integrated service for high oil price relief fund
Viva Republica, the operator of Toss, launched an integrated service to support applications for the government’s “high oil price relief fund” ahead of a second round. Users can complete pre-application, formal application and merchant lookups in the Toss app. Applications run from May 18 to July 3. The fund targets about 70 percent of the population. Approved amounts are charged to a user’s card the next day, and results are sent by text message.
