Anthropic Mithos bypasses Apple\'s 5-year macOS security technology in five days

A privilege-escalation exploit has emerged that bypasses Apple’s next-generation memory protection technology, Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE), developed over five years. CalypsoAI said it used Anthropic’s AI model Mithos in preview to produce attack code targeting M5 chip-based Macs in five days. The exploit combined two macOS vulnerabilities and multiple techniques to obtain root access from a local user account. CalypsoAI said it has shared details with Apple and plans to publish a report after a patch.

Human intern narrowly beats Figure AI humanoid in 10-hour parcel sorting test

A public test comparing productivity between a humanoid robot and a human worker ended with a narrow win for the human intern. Figure AI’s F.03 sorted 12,732 packages in 10 hours, while intern Aime handled 12,924. Average speeds differed by about 0.04 seconds per package. The robot briefly led while the intern took breaks. Figure AI CEO Brett Adcock said it would be the last time a human wins.

Musk loses lawsuit against OpenAI; court finds no liability for Altman, OpenAI

Elon Musk lost a lawsuit he filed against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, CNBC reported on May 18. A jury dismissed Musk\'s claims after less than two hours of deliberations. A U.S. federal court led by Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers agreed there was no liability for Altman and OpenAI. The court dismissed claims over alleged breach of a charitable trust and unjust enrichment as time-barred and also threw out claims against Microsoft.
