Aave joins DeFi partners to address $292 million KelpDAO hack

Aave has begun a joint recovery effort with major cryptocurrency firms under the slogan “DeFi United” to stabilise the DeFi lending market after a $292 million hack. The initiative focuses on covering the collateral shortfall for hacked rsETH. The incident stemmed from a vulnerability in KelpDAO’s LayerZero integration, enabling the minting of unbacked rsETH and borrowing of about $190 million in assets. Aave’s total value locked fell by $10 billion after the attack.

HancomWith teams up with Ontorium to launch tokenised gold stablecoin and finance service

HancomWith said on Monday it simultaneously launched Ontorium, a platform that tokenises physical gold, and AQUA, a service that extends tokenised gold into finance, in global markets. Ontorium issues the OXAU token backed only by 99.99 percent-purity physical gold certified by the London Bullion Market Association, with tokens matched 1:1 to underlying assets and linked on-chain to each gold bar\'s serial number. The company also plans to expand into other assets and launch a domestic mobile service later.

Ethereum transaction volume jumps, raising questions about rally momentum

Ethereum processed a record 240 million transactions on its base layer in the first quarter of 2026, the highest quarterly total on record. It was the first time quarterly transactions topped 200 million. The rebound coincided with wider use of layer-2 networks and stablecoins, with Ethereum-based stablecoin supply reaching $18 billion. Ethereum was around $2,260, up about 10 percent over the past month, though lower fee revenue limits the direct link to token value.
