Kraken begins converting ICX tokens to SODA

[DigitalToday reporter Chi-kyu Hwang] SODAX, a successor project to the ICON network, an early South Korean cryptocurrency project and a cross-network execution infrastructure, said on Wednesday that Kraken has begun supporting the conversion of ICX tokens to SODA.

Deposits, withdrawals and trading of ICX will be suspended from 2 p.m. local time on Aug. 7. Balances will be automatically converted to SODA at a 1:1 ratio without any separate action, and SODA trading is set to start from Aug. 14, 2026.

Kraken will support the asset on both the Sonic and Arbitrum networks when it begins SODA trading. SODA will have multichain support at the time of listing.

SODAX founder Min Kim (민 킴) said, “One of the most trusted exchanges supporting this conversion is meaningful for both the project and the community.” He said, “Kraken has a long track record of supporting projects undergoing major transitions. For ICX holders who have been with us since 2017, this support opens a clear path to the next step.”
