Decentralised exchanges (DEX) Aerodrome and Velodome have merged and relaunched as a new exchange, Aero, across seven blockchain networks, The Block reported on Tuesday.
Aero is an onchain spot exchange offered on Ethereum mainnet, Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, OP mainnet, Arc and Arbitrum, the report said.
Aerodrome accounted for 58 percent of Base DEX trading volume in the third quarter. Velodome took 60 percent on OP mainnet. Aerodrome also ranked first among all DEXs in bitcoin-dollar trading volume over the same period. The Aero team said it upgraded the model that drove the two exchanges' growth and expanded it to seven networks. DEX trading across those networks totals $120 billion a month.
Alex Cutler (알렉스 커틀러), founder and CEO of Dromos Labs, which developed Aero, said, "Every market is moving onchain. Every institution that can move to code will do so." He added, "Their margins are an opportunity for us." He also said, "Aero returns 100 percent of revenue to AERO staking participants."
