Buterin mentions Bitcoin credit in Ethereum UTXO review, Cardano founder bristles

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said he is reviewing UTXO-style concepts for a next-generation scaling architecture, including ideas such as Utreexo that he credited to Bitcoin developers. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson reacted publicly with a GIF after the reports. Cardano uses an extended UTXO model for smart contracts, and some in the Cardano camp say Ethereum’s direction resembles a design they have long pursued.

Cardano posts top weekly gain among top 100 crypto assets as whale buying and development progress draw focus

Cardano has risen 25.03 percent over the past seven days, the biggest weekly gain among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market value. ADA briefly climbed to $0.1956 on Aug. 4, according to The Crypto Basic. Santiment highlighted a drop in wallets with balances, while saying large investors increased accumulation. Whale wallets bought 240 million ADA in five days, lifting holdings to 14.5 billion ADA. Santiment also cited progress in testnet and scaling work.

Post-quantum security tech emerges without changing crypto wallet addresses

A new security technology has been proposed that aims to prepare for future quantum-computer attacks without changing addresses or moving assets in existing cryptocurrency wallets. Blockchain security firm American Fortress 공개ed an encryption structure that adds post-quantum protection while keeping ECC-based wallets for Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana. The paper says it is compatible with HD wallets but has not been peer reviewed. Rival efforts include Freedom Factory’s PQ1 post-quantum hardware wallet for EVM networks.
