Mastercard AI payment network adds Ripple as XRP is left out and RLUSD takes center stage

Mastercard has launched a new program for autonomous payments between artificial intelligence agents, with Ripple positioning the XRP Ledger and its regulated stablecoin RLUSD as key infrastructure. More than 30 companies including Stripe, Coinbase and OKX are participating. Ripple said XRPL and RLUSD support robot digital passport verification and transaction limit controls. XRP was not mentioned in Mastercard’s enterprise pilot, while RippleX promoted tools that use XRP directly in AI commerce.

Visa, OpenAI to jointly build payment infrastructure for AI agents

Visa said on Thursday it has formed a strategic partnership with ChatGPT developer OpenAI to jointly build payment infrastructure for agent commerce. The companies plan to integrate Visa payments across OpenAI services to support transactions led by artificial intelligence agents. Visa will provide network, tokenisation and risk-management functions, with transactions limited to user-set spending caps, merchant categories and approval requirements. The plan was unveiled at the 2026 Visa Payments Forum in San Francisco.

Musinsa launches ChatGPT-dedicated app to expand conversational commerce

Musinsa said on Tuesday it has launched a dedicated app on OpenAI\'s ChatGPT platform as it moves to expand in the conversational AI commerce market. The company said the rollout follows its March launch of “ChatGPT for Kakao” inside KakaoTalk, broadening customer touchpoints beyond domestic messaging platforms to OpenAI’s global user ecosystem. Musinsa said its Musinsa MCP interface provides product recommendations through context-based questions and connects users directly to its online store for purchases.
