SK hynix unveils CPO technology to break memory bandwidth barrier
SK hynix presented a technology aimed at easing a new bottleneck in AI infrastructure in a paper published in the journal Nature Electronics. The company said ultra-large clusters linking thousands of GPUs and HBM are creating a bandwidth barrier that limits data movement between systems. The paper outlines a roadmap for co-packaged optics, with targets including more than 100 Tb/s per node and less than 1 pJ/bit energy use.

Bank of America keeps buy rating and $350 target for Nvidia, says AI dominance intact
Bank of America reaffirmed its buy rating on Nvidia and kept a $350 price target, implying about 59 percent upside from around $220. It said worries over rising high-bandwidth memory costs are overstated given Nvidia’s pricing power, scale and $119 billion in supply-chain commitments. The bank said Nvidia can maintain mid-70s gross margins as rack costs rise. It also kept a long-term view that Nvidia could capture more than 65 to 70 percent of AI infrastructure spending.

iPhone 18 Pro costs seen surging, could be 38 percent higher than 17 Pro
Parts costs for Apple\'s iPhone 18 Pro 256GB model due this autumn are expected to rise about 38 percent from the prior generation, a forecast said. TrendForce sees higher costs driven by a surge in memory prices as producers shift capacity to high-bandwidth memory for AI accelerators. Memory cost is estimated to jump to $145 from $39 on the iPhone 17 Pro, and the share of memory in total parts cost is forecast to rise sharply.
