Naver opens local election special page, tightens comment moderation
Naver has launched a special page for South Korea\'s 9th nationwide local elections and is moving to block false and malicious comments. The company opened the page on May 7 and said it is strengthening comment policies for political and election news and adding a function to report false election-related comments. It will apply an upgraded AI Cleanbot 3.0 to detect hateful and disparaging comments and may automatically disable comment windows under certain conditions.

Government to mobilise full support for fair elections ahead of June 3 local polls

Prime Minister Kim Min-seok chaired a ministerial meeting on election integrity and called fake news a challenge to democracy and a clear crime. The Election Broadcast Deliberation Committee for South Korea\'s 9th nationwide local elections held its first meeting on Tuesday at the Broadcasting Hall in Mok-dong and elected Lee Jong-su as chair and Won Jun-hee as vice chair. It also adopted and published guidance for broadcasters to ensure fair election coverage, including compliance with reporting standards for election polls, limits on candidates\' appearances and maintaining fairness and objectivity.
