TikTok’s U.S. unit is pushing to secure multi-gigawatt computing capacity over the next several years, CNBC reported. People familiar with the talks said it wants 4 gigawatts of computing power by the early 2030s. TikTok said its U.S. service mainly runs on Oracle cloud infrastructure and Oracle will remain a key provider. Job postings and plans to retrain its recommendation algorithm on U.S. user data point to rising demand.

Apple iPhone Duo teardown raises suspicions about hinge
A teardown of Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, suggests early display failures may be tied to the hinge’s internal structure. Repair specialist iFixit said damage reports could be linked to where a cable passage meets the central hinge support. It built a 3D hinge model using CT scans, teardown video and Apple patents and outlined several possible causes, while saying it could not confirm a direct cause from the analysis alone.

Ethereum down 13 percent in a month as ETF outflows continue
Ethereum has fallen about 13 percent over the past 30 days, underperforming bitcoin, and its weakness has also shown in the ETH/BTC ratio. Spot ether exchange-traded funds have seen continued outflows, including $110.6 million in net redemptions on Oct. 22, data showed. Outflows were led by BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust, while Fidelity’s fund recorded a small inflow.
