Science ministry supports K-OTT fundraising, pushes overseas expansion
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held an investment attraction showcase in Busan on June 19-20 as a side event to the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival. Companies with media technology and content planning proposals presented to domestic and overseas investors. After competition, 19 firms won on-site presentation slots. Around 30 investors and buyers joined one-on-one consultations, and three investment intent agreements were signed on site.

Korea Post launches Youth Future Savings offering up to 8.0 percent interest
Korea Post will launch its Youth Future Savings product on June 22 as a new participating provider of a government policy finance programme aimed at helping young people build assets. Eligible applicants are aged 19 to 34 and meet income requirements, with some small business owners also able to join if household income criteria are met. The three-year savings plan offers a base rate of 5.0 percent, with preferential rates and an event bonus lifting the maximum to 8.0 percent.

Alt season may not return as bitcoin dominance expected to deepen
Doubts are growing over whether an “alt season” can return if the past pattern of bitcoin profits rotating into altcoins weakens. Cointelegraph reported on June 20 that bitcoin’s market dominance remains above a key support level, raising the possibility that bitcoin will continue absorbing funds from altcoins for the time being. CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju said the rotation from bitcoin to altcoins has effectively disappeared.
