All-in-one AI marketing agent VCAT (VCAT.AI) said on Oct. 22 it took part as an AI production company for the Japanese terrestrial broadcaster TV Asahi period drama "Sanada Juyushi", which is being released on Netflix.
VCAT handled AI production for action scenes in the series. The company said generative AI video has so far been used mainly for ads, short-form videos and social media content that deliver products or messages in short formats. With AI production processes now being used in terrestrial dramas with strict schedules and quality standards, the scope of AI video use is expanding to broadcast content production.
VCAT mainly produced high-difficulty action scenes with extensive actor and camera movement. VCAT's production team said it designed AI scenes to reflect on-set movement paths and camera work, and generated characters, backgrounds and buildings to match reference materials for the Japanese Sengoku period.
Ahead of the drama's release, it also produced an AI-made promotional advertising video. Made entirely with AI without filming, the video was aired on a Times Square screen in New York on Oct. 19 local time, and was introduced on a Japanese terrestrial broadcast program on Oct. 21.
VCAT Chief Executive Jeong Beom-jin (정범진) said, "The fact that VCAT took part in producing a Japanese terrestrial drama set, which is considered to have particularly demanding quality standards, itself means that VCAT's AI video production capabilities are being recognised in this market." He added, "Based on capabilities proven on Japanese broadcast sets, we will create a new standard for AI video production in the global broadcasting and entertainment market."
VCAT said it is an all-in-one AI marketing agent spanning GEO, research, production and operations, and supports automation across each marketing process for major brands, from professional AI video production to interactive content generation.
