Hyundai Motor Securities agrees 2.5 percent pay rise and 500 treasury shares

Hyundai Motor Securities has finalised a 2026 wage agreement with its labour union. Under the deal, employees’ annual pay will rise by an average 2.5 percent based on the total wage bill, and staff will receive 500 shares of the company’s stock. The company will also raise the total payout rate under its pay-peak system and cut monthly fixed overtime hours. Labour and management also agreed to launch a joint social contribution programme this year.

Credit margin debt investing still rises despite drop in leveraged ETF trading

Credit trading loan balances in South Korea have risen again to more than 33 trillion won, reversing a recent decline, even as trading in single-stock leveraged ETFs has dropped sharply after tighter rules. Overall stock market turnover has slowed and investor deposit funds have slipped below 100 trillion won. Regulators are preparing additional investor-protection measures related to margin loans and unsettled trades, including tighter checks for minors and older investors and improved notice procedures.

Shinhan Bank joins pro baseball players and fans donation campaign, pledges up to 70 million won

Shinhan Bank is joining a social contribution campaign that turns professional baseball players’ game records and fans’ cheering into donations. The bank and the ChildFund Korea Foundation will run the “Our Neighborhood Superstar” campaign with six players, with donations accumulated based on performance and the bank matching up to 60 million won. Fans can also participate by leaving comments, with the bank adding up to 10 million won more. Funds will support child welfare projects in related regions.
