Hana Bank launches 5.5 percent mid-rate loan for mid-to-low credit borrowers

Hana Bank launched an online-only mid-rate unsecured loan aimed at improving access to finance for mid-to-low credit borrowers. The product applies a fixed annual interest rate of 5.5 percent and offers a maximum limit of 10 million won, targeting customers in the bottom 50 percent of personal credit scores. Hana Bank plans to supply 2 trillion won of the loans and said the design helps borrowers plan repayments without rate volatility.

Korea broadcast regulator sets up task force over JTBC rehabilitation filing

South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission has formed a task force to monitor JTBC\'s rehabilitation filing, its chairman said at a full commission meeting. He said the regulator will closely review preparations so there is no disruption amid debate over universal viewing rights for the World Cup host broadcaster. Commissioners called for documents, scenario planning and possibly a CEO hearing. The commission also ordered corrective measures for terrestrial broadcasters and fined PP IHQ 10 million won.

SKB to launch integrated telecom-payment product with Toss Place for small merchants

SK Broadband will launch a bundled telecommunications and payment product with payment terminal and POS solution provider Toss Place on June 25 to ease operating cost burdens for small merchants. Subscribers can receive monthly internet fee discounts of up to 4,400 won, depending on conditions, and some customers will get a Toss Front terminal for free. The companies will run events through Aug. 31 and introduce on-site training programs.
