ITCEN Global wins science and ICT minister award for tech talent training, job creation

ITCEN Global said on Jan. 8 it won the Science and ICT Minister’s Award in recognition of its work to build a structured system for developing technology talent and to create quality jobs. The company said the award reflects its management philosophy that technical talent drives competitiveness and its companywide push to train professionals for fast-changing AI and cloud markets. Naver team builds 4,000 Nvidia Blackwell B200 GPU cluster, says AI model development 12 times faster

Naver said on Jan. 8 it has completed an AI computing cluster based on 4,000 Nvidia B200 Blackwell GPUs. The company said the new “B200 4K cluster” is comparable in computing scale to leading TOP500 supercomputers. Internal simulations showed training a 72 billion-parameter model could be cut from about 18 months on an A100-based 2,048-GPU setup to about 1.5 months, improving training efficiency by more than 12 times.

LG Electronics sets up CEO-led companywide innovation control tower

LG Electronics said it will pursue profitability-based growth by strengthening quality, cost and delivery competitiveness and boosting R&D and technology leadership. CEO Ryu Jae-cheol said the company must move faster than rivals to secure business leadership. The company created a CEO-led innovation control tower to track targets and progress by business area. It plans to accelerate a shift toward B2B, non-hardware and online businesses, redefine work through AI transformation and raise productivity by 30% within 2 to 3 years.
