AI cloud platform company Nebius Group said on May 1 (local time) it will acquire AI inference and model optimisation company Eigen AI for about $643 million.

The acquisition price will be paid in cash and Class A shares. Under the deal, Eigen AI’s optimisation technology will be integrated into Nebius’ managed inference platform, "Nebius Token Factory". The two companies have previously worked together on implementing open-source model optimisation.

Eigen AI’s founding team is made up of alumni of MIT’s HAN Lab.

Eigen AI provides optimisation services for open-source models including GPT-OSS, Gemma, Qwen, Llama, Nemotron, DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi and MiniMax. It has focused on technology to efficiently run architectures such as mixture of experts (MoE) and compressed sparse attention (CSA) in real service environments.

Existing Eigen AI customers will be able to use Nebius infrastructure and platforms after the acquisition is completed. The acquisition will also give Netherlands-based Nebius an engineering and research base in the San Francisco Bay Area, where Eigen AI is located.
