Korea to set up standing consultative body on national R&D budget planning

Korea’s Planning and Budget Office and the Ministry of Science and ICT will strengthen cooperation to improve the efficiency and consistency of R&D investment, officials said. This year’s R&D budget totals 35.5 trillion won, with 30.5 trillion won in major programmes first drafted by the science ministry’s Innovation Headquarters before final compilation by the planning office. The ministries will create a monthly director-general level council, expand mutual participation in budget processes and tighten rules on late-stage submission of new projects from 2027 planning.

Steve Jobs catchphrase 'One more thing' marks 28th anniversary

Apple fans have long associated the phrase “One more thing” with surprise announcements at the end of company events. The tradition began at Macworld San Francisco in 1998, when Steve Jobs used it as Apple returned to profitability. It later accompanied reveals including Mac OS X’s Aqua design, the iPod shuffle, the Intel-based MacBook Pro, the Apple Watch, the iPhone X and the Apple Silicon transition. The latest example was the Apple Vision Pro in 2023.

Cathie Wood forecasts Trump will buy bitcoin directly in 2026

ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood forecast that U.S. President Donald Trump could directly buy bitcoin in 2026 as a national strategic asset. She said the current bitcoin reserve holds only assets seized during enforcement and that an executive order limits purchases to a budget-neutral approach. Wood said the 2026 midterm elections could be a turning point and cited political incentives, regulatory clarity and business-friendly policies.
