China unveils 200-qubit dual-core quantum computer Hanyuan-2 but omits key performance metrics

China has unveiled a 200-qubit neutral-atom quantum computer called Hanyuan-2, claiming it is the world’s first to implement a dual-core quantum computing architecture. The system integrates two independently operating neutral-atom arrays in a single rack-sized unit, using rubidium-87 and rubidium-85 atoms. The company also highlighted installation and power features, saying it runs without complex cryogenic equipment and consumes less than 7 kW. Industry watchers note key benchmarks and peer-reviewed papers have not been released.

Ethereum whale transfers $1.35 billion ETH to Binance, raising sell pressure concerns

A large Ethereum holder moved $1.35 billion worth of ETH to Binance, heightening concerns about potential selling pressure. BeInCrypto reported that crypto whale investor Garrett Jin (개럿 진) transferred all 577,896 ETH held over four days. Lookonchain data showed most of the ETH was swapped from bitcoin eight months ago, with Lookonchain saying the investor is now about $1.3 billion in losses. Exchange inflows and rising reserves have drawn market attention.

TD Cowen says U.S. CLARITY Act still far from passage, could be delayed

The U.S. Senate will vote on the CLARITY Act on May 14, but investment bank TD Cowen said major political and stakeholder hurdles remain before it can become law. It said the vote is largely procedural and shifts debate to the full Senate. Disputes include stablecoin revenue allocation and conflict-of-interest provisions for senior officials and families. TD Cowen warned the effort could slip into 2027, with implementation possibly delayed until 2029.
