LG Electronics said on Tuesday it carried out a social contribution initiative supporting residents in underdeveloped areas of Nigeria with free laundry services and drinking water facilities. The campaign was held in two locations, the Aba area of Abia state and the Owerri area of Imo state. LG Electronics installed drinking water facilities that drill and filter groundwater using solar energy to supply clean water. It also operated a mobile free laundry room equipped with washers, dryers and laundry supplies.

The activity was prepared to provide practical daily convenience for local residents who have difficulty securing drinking water and doing laundry. The company said it also aims to share the optimism and hope contained in its brand slogan, "Life's Good", with residents. LG Electronics has continued community-based social contribution activities since 2017, operating free laundry rooms for underdeveloped areas in Nigeria.

A resident living in the Aba area expressed thanks, saying, "Women and young children had to walk long distances to get clean water, but this campaign, which provides clean water and hygiene, will be a big help to residents' daily convenience and health."

An LG Electronics official said, "We will take the lead in improving quality of life through community-based social contribution activities that can provide practical help to residents."
