Mirae Asset Securities' DC retirement pension reserves top 16.3 trillion won
Mirae Asset Securities said on Jan. 19 it ranked No. 1 in the industry by assets under defined contribution (DC) retirement pensions. Financial Supervisory Service disclosures showed its DC reserves totalled about 16.3 trillion won as of the fourth quarter of 2025, up 1.5 trillion won from the previous quarter, lifting it from second place. The firm said 4.4159 trillion won flowed in during 2025 and its total pension assets exceeded 60 trillion won.

IBK Industrial Bank of Korea to back venture startups' global push at CES 2026
IBK Industrial Bank of Korea said on Jan. 19 it participated in CES 2026 in Las Vegas from Jan. 6 to 9 local time, operating a standalone booth as the only domestic bank to do so. It introduced its innovation finance offerings at the IBK Innovation Hall and ran the booth with 7 startups. The bank also supported exhibits for 15 startups through the IBK Changgong Hall at the integrated Korea pavilion.

Shinhan Bank rolls out inclusive finance support for SMEs ahead of Lunar New Year holiday
Shinhan Bank said on Jan. 19 it will offer inclusive finance support to small and midsized companies struggling with cash management as seasonal funding demand rises ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. The bank will supply 15.1 trillion won in financing through March 13, including 6.1 trillion won in new loans and 9.0 trillion won in maturity extensions. Eligible firms can receive up to 1 billion won in new loans, along with maturity extensions and repayment deferrals.
