Naver search share hits 63 percent, reclaims 60 percent level after 3 years

Naver held a dominant lead in South Korea’s search market in 2025 with an average share of 62.86 percent, up 4.72 percentage points from 2024 and back above 60 percent for the first time in three years, InternetTrend data showed. Google’s share fell to 29.55 percent. Bing ranked third at 3.12 percent and Daum fourth at 2.94 percent. Industry commentary linked Naver’s rebound to efforts such as its AI search service, AI Briefing.

CJ Olive Young says 100-billion-won brands triple in five years on foreign buying boost

CJ Olive Young said 116 brands on its channels recorded annual sales of at least 100 billion won last year, up from 36 in 2020. Six brands exceeded 1 trillion won in annual sales, double the prior year, with Mediheal topping 200 billion won. The retailer said foreign purchases reached 1 trillion won, supporting brands in major shopping districts. It also cited incubating programmes and an omnichannel strategy.

LG Uplus says daily users up 25% after launch of U+one app

LG Uplus said on Jan. 4 that daily active users of its integrated app U+one have increased by about 25% since the app’s launch. Introduced in October, U+one combines services previously split between a customer service app and a membership app. The company said usage growth was supported by offering multiple services in one place and adding conversational AI. It also said customers are spending about 21% more time in the app.
