[Digital Today reporter Hojeong Lee] Item trading platform Itemmania is joining hands with MMORPG Rasalas to present a new technical cooperation model that directly connects the in-game system and the platform.

Itemmania, operated by IMI, said on Thursday it has introduced the industry’s first “game item trade linkage service” with Rasalas. The service is the first case in which technical integration has been implemented between a game company’s system and an item trading platform.

The service links Rasalas’ in-game trading system and the Itemmania platform via an application programming interface, or API. It integrates the process from sales registration to item transfer processing after a transaction is completed into a single flow.

Rasalas users can automatically register items for sale on the Itemmania platform by entering the item, quantity and price in the game’s trading menu. When a buyer applies to purchase and the deal is completed, the item is transferred based on linked information between the two systems.

The two companies connected key procedures on a platform basis, including sales registration, checking transaction status information and processing item data transfers, to reduce user inconvenience in the process. They also support the required game data transfer processing after a deal is completed, improving the stability of the item transfer process, and are expected to offer a structured item transfer experience in a new server environment.

An Itemmania official said, “This service is a technical cooperation case that links the in-game system with the Itemmania platform through cooperation with Rasalas.” The official added, “We plan to expand platform technical integration with various game companies to provide users with a more convenient and stable service experience.”

A Rasalas official also said, “This is part of technical cooperation to reduce procedural inconvenience that may arise in the process of using an external platform and to provide a more convenient user experience based on checking information in-game.” The official added, “We will continue to advance the service in a direction that considers user convenience, service stability and compliance with operating policies together.”

Itemmania is also running a joint promotion through June 28 to mark the opening of the new servers Ariel and Priscilla, along with the introduction of the service.
