Intel seen likely to produce Apple M-series chips from 2027
Apple is viewed as likely to begin using Intel to produce its M-series chips from 2027, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report cited by The Verge. Apple has a confidentiality agreement with Intel and secured Intel’s 18AP PDK 0.9.1GA chip. Apple is waiting for Intel’s PDK 1.0 and 1.1 kits due in early 2026. If progress stays on track, Intel could start shipping low-end M-series processors made with its 18AP process in mid to late 2027. The Verge said the move could strengthen Apple’s ties with the U.S. government and support Intel’s long-term growth.
