Samsung Electronics selected for U.S. Energy Department project on next-generation drying technology

Samsung Electronics is developing high-efficiency dehumidification drying technology under a U.S. Department of Energy-supported assignment. The two-year research will be carried out with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of South Carolina’s chemical engineering department on a $2.4 million budget, split equally between DOE funding and Samsung’s contribution. The project aims to cut electricity use to 35 percent of vented dryers while matching drying performance and enabling 120V use without external ducting work.

NCSoft secures 2 new IPs, invests in Dynamis One and Dexa Studio

NCSoft said on Wednesday it made strategic investments in two South Korean game developers, Dynamis One and Dexa Studio, to expand its global publishing business and secure new intellectual property. Both studios were founded in 2024 around key developers behind successful titles in their genres. NCSoft will obtain publishing rights to their new IPs and handle domestic and overseas publishing for Dynamis One’s “Project AT” and Dexa Studio’s “Project R.”

Yanolja receives KOSA 500 billion won software club certification

Yanolja said on Jan. 15 it received certification in the '500 billion won club' at the Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association's 2025 Software 100 Billion Won Club Awards. The programme selects software technology-based companies by tallying prior fiscal-year sales by bracket and officially certifies firms representing South Korea's software industry. Yanolja said the recognition confirmed growth in software-led revenue, noting about 22 percent of sales came from overseas markets through the third quarter of last year.
