Naver has released a new sustainability strategy report that stresses co-growth in its platform ecosystem and trust in its technology, in line with the shift to artificial intelligence (AI).

On June 25, Naver said it published its 2025 integrated report covering financial and ESG performance for 2025 and its direction for sustainable growth. The report was newly structured around business synergy, impact creation and technology trust, as AI transition and technology trust emerge as key elements in assessing the sustainability of platform companies.

Naver is expanding its existing win-win programme, Project Flower, into Naver Impact to broaden the use of AI among small business owners, creators and the education ecosystem. It executed a total of 142 billion won last year under the name of an impact fund, including for expanding the technology ecosystem, and plans to increase that to a cumulative 1 trillion won by 2030.

The report also gives weight to its "on service AI" strategy of tightly applying AI to core services. Based on its own data across user-generated content (UGC), shopping and local services, it is enhancing the usability of key services. It plans to strengthen user experiences that run from search to purchase, reservations and payments through Agent N, the AI tab and a shopping AI agent.

It also revamped its sustainability strategy in line with a drive to strengthen technology trust for users. It covered as material topics information on personal information protection, information security, greenhouse gas and energy management, and human capital management, which it said are of high interest to stakeholders.

In addition, it disclosed its climate-related decision-making system, scenario analysis, climate resilience, metrics and targets through a separately published climate information disclosure report. It conducted a physical risk assessment for extreme heavy rain using digital twin technology in cooperation with Korea Water Resources Corp (K-water), and also presented a biodiversity analysis targeting the Gak Chuncheon data center.

Naver CEO Sooyeon Choi (최수연) said Naver's sustainable growth is possible when it grows with various members of its ecosystem such as users, business operators and creators. She said Naver will continue to support partners' growth based on its AI, data and platform capabilities, and will build a Naver ecosystem that grows together with various members so that more people can enjoy opportunities from technology.
