SOOP has secured exclusive online broadcasting rights for major international volleyball competitions organised by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), significantly strengthening its sports streaming content lineup.
On June 25, SOOP said it will exclusively live stream a number of FIVB competitions, including national team international tournaments and club competitions, through 2028. The broadcast slate includes the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Cup, the Asian Championship, the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), the World Championship, the Asian Champions League and international beach volleyball events.
The first broadcast is the ongoing 2026 AVC Cup men’s volleyball tournament. South Korea’s national team, after playing Thailand and Indonesia in the group stage, faces Oman on June 25 and Qatar on June 26. SOOP plans to live stream every match of the tournament from the group stage through the final.
Under the deal, volleyball fans will be able to consistently watch international competitions during the domestic professional volleyball offseason. Matches involving South Korea’s men’s and women’s teams in the VNL, as well as the 2027 World Championship and the Asian Championship, will also be available on SOOP.
SOOP has broadcast domestic professional volleyball and corporate volleyball, and has recently expanded investment in volleyball, including launching the women’s professional volleyball club SOOP Supers.
The company said it will also provide a range of secondary content, in addition to official broadcasts, including simultaneous streamer broadcasts called Co-Streaming, review content and highlights. It said it plans to broaden a content ecosystem where fans can communicate and enjoy content beyond simply watching.
Junseok Yoo (유준석), head of SOOP’s sports business division, said, "Securing the broadcasting rights for these FIVB international competitions has made it possible to provide national team matches and world-class volleyball content in a stable manner." He added, "We will continue to expand broadcasts and original content so volleyball fans can enjoy a variety of volleyball content year-round."
