Shinhan Financial holds integrated wealth management forum for 1,000 wealthy clients
Shinhan Financial Group held an integrated wealth management forum in Seoul for about 1,000 wealthy clients, offering tailored solutions on key concerns such as property, business succession, retirement and global investment. The event explained major issues and response directions through seminars, followed by one-on-one consultations. Sessions included a talk on global macro insights for 2026 and lectures on tax changes, tax-saving strategies and market outlooks.

KB Financial Group to install free sudden-acceleration prevention devices in cars of elderly drivers
KB Financial Group will support the free installation of pedal misapplication prevention devices for 740 elderly drivers, in a project worth about 300 million won. KB Financial said on Aug. 31 it has begun installing the devices under a programme 추진 with the National Police Agency, the Korea Road Traffic Authority and the Citizens’ Coalition for Safety Living. Installations will be carried out at 19 driver’s licence test centres nationwide, along with safe-driving consultations.

Korean banks received 2.68 million rate-cut requests in first half, up 77 percent
South Korea's banking sector received 2,679,000 requests in the first half of 2026 for loan rate cuts, up 77.0 percent from the previous half, as a mydata-business-based service began. Banks accepted 512,000 cases, up 22.5 percent, but the acceptance rate fell to 19.1 percent from 27.6 percent. Total interest reductions reached 73.43 billion won, up 0.8 percent.
