Nvidia has entered the Windows laptop market with its own superchip. Nvidia said on Oct. 16 it will release RTX Spark laptops that combine a GPU and CPU on a single chip. Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI will unveil nine models including the ProArt P14, XPS 16 and Surface Laptop Ultra. Sales will begin on Oct. 16 local time, with a starting price of $2,599.

The superchip in RTX Spark includes an Nvidia Blackwell RTX GPU and a Grace CPU. Unified memory shared by the CPU and GPU is up to 128GB. AI compute performance reaches 1 petaflop, or 1 quadrillion operations per second, based on 4-bit floating point (FP4). The specifications allow large language models (LLMs) to run on-device without relying on the cloud. Nvidia said the custom CPU design was developed with MediaTek.

Users can run AI agents such as GitHub Copilot, Hermes, OpenClaude and Perplexity using only an installer, without command-line input. Nvidia also released the 74 billion-parameter model Nemotron 3.5 Volt, designed for tool calling and multi-step tasks. Agent permission management is handled by the OpenShell security runtime and Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC). Using Nvidia Fair, users can offload AI inference to Windows, Linux and macOS computers connected on a home network.

Developers can run models and agents directly on the device using CUDA, Nvidia’s development environment for its GPUs. It also supports the first PyTorch-CUDA build released for Windows on Arm and native Python. Games including Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite and NBA 2K27 can be played from launch and deliver more than 100 frames per second at 1440p resolution. A new model that boosts DLSS 5 speed by up to 1.4 times will also be available from Oct. 16.

Creative work is possible on battery power without connecting to an external power supply. The company said users can edit 8K 4:2:2 video and render 3D scenes of up to 90GB. Adobe added Nvidia’s inference acceleration software TensorRT to AI editing features in Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D. Photoshop and Premiere will support RTX Spark from beta versions at launch, while support for Substance will be added later. In ComfyUI, AI video generated at 15 frames per second can be converted to 60 frames per second HDR video with expanded dynamic range.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (젠슨 황) said, "RTX Spark packs the performance of a supercomputer, a gaming PC and a workstation into a single slim and highly power-efficient device." He added, "Anyone can develop, create and enjoy games anywhere."
