Gemini to cut up to 25 percent of staff, exit UK, EU and Australia

Crypto exchange Gemini said it will cut up to 25 percent of its staff in February and exit the UK, European Union and Australian markets. It recently reduced its U.S. workforce, and its chief operating officer, chief financial officer and chief legal officer have left. Gemini’s global spot trading share fell to 0.1 percent in January, while spending rose about 70 percent and net profit growth was 17 percent. It is shifting toward prediction markets.

ZachXBT reveals alleged insider trading by Axiom employees

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT alleged that some employees at cryptocurrency trading platform Axiom exploited weaknesses in an internal tool without access controls from early 2025. He said they viewed sensitive user information, tracked personal wallet activity and used it for internal trading. He also cited remarks by a New York-based senior business development employee and said Axiom staff tracked influencer wallets to build positions before public endorsements.
