Digital asset exchange Coinone has completed the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) acceptance of its filing to change major shareholders and is moving to expand its business on the back of new shareholders including Hankook Investment Securities and OKX Ventures.
Coinone said on July 23 it completed the acceptance of its filing to change major shareholders from the FIU on July 22.
Coinone previously had its filing to change executives accepted on June 26. With the acceptance of the filing to change major shareholders, it has completed key reporting procedures required for new shareholders to join.
Coinone plans to strengthen its responsible management system and business foundation centred on Hankook Investment Securities, OKX Ventures and existing shareholder Com2uS Holdings.
It plans to apply the financial compliance and internal control capabilities held by Hankook Investment Securities to Coinone's exchange operations.
It will also use the blockchain infrastructure technology and operating experience of global digital asset exchange OKX. Coinone said OKX has 120 million users worldwide.
Coinone plans to combine the reliability of traditional financial firms with the technological capabilities of a global exchange to enhance trading stability and service competitiveness.
Through cooperation with the new shareholders, it plans to expand its business scope beyond existing digital asset trading services into a comprehensive financial platform that provides blockchain-based financial products and services.
A Coinone official said, "Based on cooperation between new shareholders and existing shareholder companies, we will strengthen responsible management and a stable business foundation." The official added, "By combining compliance capabilities with blockchain technology, we will be reborn as an innovative digital asset exchange."
