Ethereum staking hits record high with 30 percent of ETH supply locked
Ethereum staking has reached a record high, with about 30 percent of circulating ETH locked, The Block reported on Tuesday. Staked ether has exceeded 36 million tokens, representing a market value of more than $118 billion. The Block said an 11 percent year-to-date rise in ether and a jump of more than 5 percent over 24 hours also supported staking growth. The network has more than 900,000 active validators, with another 2.3 million ETH waiting.

MSIT attends Korea-ASEAN digital ministerial meeting to boost AI, digital cooperation
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT will attend the fifth Korea-ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting in Hanoi on Jan. 15-16 with Lee Do-gyu as chief representative, to push stronger AI and digital cooperation. The meeting will review progress of the Korea-ASEAN Digital Innovation Flagship and seek support to accelerate a data common ecosystem and AI convergence projects. The ministry will also work on cybersecurity and AI safety initiatives and discuss cooperation with Vietnam’s FPT.

LG AI Research pledges to make K-EXAONE the world's top AI model
LG AI Research said on Thursday its K-EXAONE model advanced to the second stage of the Ministry of Science and ICT-led project to develop an independent AI foundation model, posting the best results in the first-stage evaluation. It said K-EXAONE earned top marks in benchmark, expert and user assessments. Co-head Lim Woo-hyung said the institute will work to build a complete K-EXAONE with global competitiveness through performance upgrades.
