NCSoft targets 5 trillion won revenue by 2030 with predictable growth model

NCSoft plans to move away from an MMORPG-heavy business model and build a predictable growth model, it said. The company aims to generate cash from existing IP such as Lineage while diversifying into shooting, subculture and action RPG games and mobile casual titles. It outlined three growth pillars: upgrading legacy IP, expanding new IP through in-house development and publishing, and scaling mobile casual games using data-driven testing and live operations.

Datarize teams up with Cafe24 on CRM to target Japan e-commerce market

Datarize's Japan unit has signed a memorandum of understanding with global e-commerce platform Cafe24 to target Japan's e-commerce market, it said on Wednesday. The partners plan to strengthen CRM functions in Cafe24's premium operations support service, Cafe24 Pro, and combine their technologies. The companies aim to support Japanese e-commerce firms in using customer data and maximising customer lifetime value through automated segmentation, multi-channel marketing campaigns and AI-based performance analysis and optimisation.

Netflix to buy AI startup InterPositive for up to $600 million to boost editing

Netflix has agreed to acquire InterPositive, an AI company co-founded by Ben Affleck, for up to $600 million, TechCrunch reported on March 11, citing Bloomberg. The deal would be Netflix’s second-largest acquisition. Netflix did not disclose the price, but sources said the initial cash payment would be less than $600 million, with additional bonuses tied to performance goals. InterPositive’s technology helps filmmakers fix editing discontinuities and improve scenes.
