AI price war begins as physical AI market expands

Price competition among major AI companies is intensifying as providers introduce lower-priced chatbot subscriptions aimed at reducing barriers for free users to switch to paid plans. OpenAI expanded its ad-supported ChatGPT Go plan beyond India, and Google launched a $7.99 monthly Google AI Plus plan globally. ServiceNow shares fall despite forecast-beating quarterly results

ServiceNow beat Wall Street estimates in its fourth-quarter results, but its shares fell 5 percent, CNBC reported on Tuesday. CNBC said the company’s push to expand investment in AI and security drew mixed reactions in the market. Fourth-quarter revenue rose 20.5 percent from a year earlier to $3.57 billion, while net profit edged up to $401 million, or 38 cents per share. ServiceNow also approved a $5 billion share buyback.

ServiceNow expands AI partnership to Anthropic after OpenAI tie-up

ServiceNow has signed a multi-year contract with AI developer Anthropic, TechCrunch reported on Jan. 28. Under the partnership, Anthropic’s AI model Claude will be integrated into the ServiceNow platform and distributed to about 29,000 ServiceNow employees. CEO Bill McDermott said AI-native workflows would deliver new value to global companies. The company earlier announced cooperation with OpenAI and says it aims to offer customers multiple model options.
