South Korea's Broadcast Media Communications Commission held its first full meeting since its launch and cleared 23 pending items. It approved reauthorisation for 150 broadcast stations, setting licence terms based on review scores, and decided that 17 stations including TBS will undergo hearings before a final decision. It also handled drafts tied to amended broadcasting laws, follow-up rules after the repeal of the handset distribution law, and subordinate rules for a transmission qualification certification system due to take effect in September.

RISC-V chip design startup SiFive raised $400 million in a Series G funding round, SiliconANGLE reported on Thursday. The round valued the company at $3.65 billion. Atreides Management led the financing, with participation from Nvidia and enterprise technology investor Apollo. SiFive’s cumulative external funding has topped $760 million. Founded in 2015 by RISC-V creators, SiFive sells ready-to-use RISC-V processor designs spanning automotive, battery-powered connected devices and data centre chips.
