AMD to build 2 AI supercomputers in UK, invest $2 billion over five years

AMD will invest $2 billion in Britain over the next five years to build artificial intelligence supercomputer infrastructure. The company said funds will go to AI research programmes and supercomputer construction, including a first system, Zenith, at the University of Cambridge. A second system, Sunrise, will be co-developed with the UK Atomic Energy Authority and designed for fusion research. CEO Lisa Su said the investment will improve access to computing resources for Britain’s “sovereign AI.”

Solana staking whale gains erased as holdings slide back to initial investment level

The value of assets held by a Solana (SOL) staking whale, once worth more than $300 million, has fallen back to about the initial investment as the market declined. On-chain data also shows large amounts moving to exchange deposit addresses, heightening concerns about additional selling pressure. Solana traded near $66, while spot flows showed a net inflow. Futures open interest rose, investment products saw outflows, and funding rates turned more negative.
