EU discusses access to OpenAI's GPT-5.5-Cyber model, Anthropic's Mythos not yet
The European Union is discussing access to OpenAI's GPT-5.5-Cyber cybersecurity model, while Anthropic has not made Mythos available to the EU, CNBC reported, citing the European Commission. Commission spokesman Thomas Regnier welcomed OpenAI's transparency and its intention to provide access to the new model. He said talks have already taken place and more discussions are planned this week to monitor deployment and address security concerns.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Gen Z and college students are using ChatGPT not as a simple search tool but like a personal operating system. He said older users tend to use it as a smarter search engine, while people in their 20s and 30s use it more like a personal assistant. He pointed to data and surveys showing rapid adoption among young Americans and described universities’ mixed responses.
