Nexon Replay links with Daegu game production support project to find local developers

Nexon said on Wednesday its open-licence IP project, Nexon Replay, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency to foster the local game industry. The partners will jointly run an IP-linked game production support programme under the 2026 Daegu Global Game Center project. Eligible applicants are developers headquartered in Daegu or able to relocate there within one month.

Korea Investment Securities posts Q2 operating profit of 1.21 trillion won, up 92 percent

Korea Investment Securities posted a second-quarter operating profit of 1.21 trillion won, up 92.38 percent from a year earlier, it disclosed on Aug. 6. The figure rose 26.08 percent from the previous quarter. Second-quarter revenue rose 94.66 percent to 12.90 trillion won. Net profit increased 64.02 percent to 946.4 billion won. First-half operating profit climbed 89.05 percent to 2.17 trillion won.

Kakao Enterprise names Lee Jae-han CEO to strengthen AI infrastructure business

Kakao Enterprise has appointed former business division head Lee Jae-han as its new chief executive as it moves to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure business. The company said it made the appointment at an extraordinary shareholders meeting and board meeting on Wednesday. It plans to maintain continuity in key businesses including AI infrastructure and hybrid GPU-as-a-service. Lee said AI data centres, cloud infrastructure and AI platforms are becoming more important.
