Stellar launches quantum security plan to upgrade all accounts by end-2027

Stellar developers unveiled a three-step roadmap to shift to quantum-resistant cryptography to counter threats from quantum computers. The plan starts in 2026 with changes for corporate wallets and institutions, then a 2027 protocol upgrade enabling all accounts to add quantum-resistant signers while keeping existing addresses. A final phase will retire the current cryptography, with timing to be decided later. The foundation flagged dormant accounts as a key challenge.

Trump earns 3.5 trillion won from crypto as investors post losses, analysis shows

U.S. President Donald Trump's family earned about $2.3 billion in pre-tax profit from crypto ventures over the past 18 months, while retail investors and shareholders in related listed firms recorded $2.25 billion in losses, an analysis showed. The biggest gains were tied to World Liberty Financial token sales and the TRUMP memecoin, while investors faced lockups and price drops. A Nasdaq-listed firm and a bitcoin miner were also cited.

SKT forms AI fund with Japan's NTT, steps up Korea-Japan economic cooperation

SK Telecom said it will form a joint fund with Japan's NTT and Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom to invest in next-generation AI technology. The IOWN AI Fund is expected to be worth $500 million, about 760 billion won. The companies plan to set up fund manager Catalight Capital with bases in Silicon Valley and East Asia. The fund will invest in startups across AI infrastructure, semiconductors, services and optical communications.
