KISA to hold ransomware resilience conference to discuss prevention and recovery strategies
Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) said it will hold the fifth Ransomware Resilience Conference with the Ministry of Science and ICT on Sept. 16 in Seoul. The event will share the importance of end-to-end response, including preventing damage spread, restoring core operations and preventing reinfection after incidents. It will cover evolving threats, response strategies, AI-based analysis and industry cases. KISA reported 145 ransomware victim reports in the first half.

KakaoBank 'Our Child' account and savings users top 800,000
KakaoBank said on Tuesday that cumulative users of its deposit products for minors, the 'Our Child Account' and 'Our Child Savings', have exceeded 800,000 within 10 months of launch. Cumulative subscribed accounts for the 'Our Child Account' topped 410,000. In the first half of this year, 210,000 of about 1 million new customers signed up for the product, accounting for about 21 percent.

KB Financial expands support for firefighters' treatment and recovery with National Fire Hospital
KB Financial Group will create rest areas at the National Fire Hospital for firefighters and their families and operate psychological and emotional recovery support programmes. KB Financial said on Aug. 12 it prepared welfare infrastructure and related programmes to support firefighters' treatment and recovery at the hospital's opening ceremony in Eumseong, North Chungcheong Province. The project was led by KB Insurance, which set up three rest areas, ran a programme and delivered 600 recovery support kits.
