Waymo robotaxi logs 500,000 weekly paid rides in 10 U.S. cities, tenfold growth in two years

Waymo is rapidly expanding its influence in the U.S. robotaxi market. Alphabet-owned Waymo is recording 500,000 paid robotaxi trips a week across 10 cities, a tenfold increase in two years, TechCrunch reported on March 27. Waymo has expanded service beyond Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Angeles to seven more cities. Regulators are also examining issues including how its robotaxis recognized school buses.

Gold price war rule broken as bitcoin touted as digital safe-haven alternative

Gold, long viewed as a safe-haven asset, has moved against past patterns during geopolitical crises. After the outbreak of the U.S.-Iran war on Feb. 28, gold fell about 15 percent to $4,500 an ounce as of March 27. XRP slump halves cost to join top 10 percent holders

A sharp drop in XRP has lowered the cost of joining the cryptocurrency’s “rich list,” with the funds needed to enter the top 10 percent of holders falling from about $6,000 to about $3,000. XRP has slid to around $1.40 from about $2.84 in early 2025’s fourth quarter, while its market value nearly halved. Holding thresholds for other tiers also fell, and the number of XRP wallets has risen to about 7.73 million.
